Nested parentheses are read and written at 1.1 per layer, which is what every front-end that supports them uses — a convention, not a standard. The nested form cannot express a weight below 1 at all, so anything under it is written explicitly rather than silently dropped.
The nudge buttons stay inside 0.1–2, where samplers give more of the thing rather than artefacts. A weight you typed yourself is left alone — (term:4) is read as 4, shown as 4 and written back as 4, marked but not corrected. This tool does not change your words, and quietly rewriting a number would be exactly that.
