Seedream 5 Lite is ByteDance's earlier Seedream 5 image model. It is its own model, not a setting on Seedream 5 Pro, and it is not Seedance.

What it is good at

ByteDance says the step from Seedream 4 to 5.0 Lite is deeper reading of the brief: it is meant to catch what you meant, hold a subject steady across pictures, and use what it knows about the world. ByteDance is explicit that the point is not a larger file or a faster result.

How to use it on Visxy

Write the picture in the prompt and choose basic, high, or ultra quality. To edit or combine pictures, attach one to four of them and name them @image1, @image2, @image3, and @image4 in the prompt.

Where it differs

Pro is the later model ByteDance describes as a design studio for dense layouts. Lite is the one with the ultra quality choice, and the one ByteDance introduced for understanding a loose instruction. Both take the same kind of attached pictures.

FAQ

When do I pick Lite instead of Pro?

Pick Lite to try a Seedream picture, or when you want the ultra quality choice. Pick Pro when the job is a dense layout or type that has to read as design.

Can I edit?

Yes. One to four pictures, named @image1 onward.

How do I point at a picture?

Name it @image1 onward. Lite takes one to four pictures, the same way Pro does.

Is this a video model?

No. Seedance is the video line. Seedream 5 Lite makes still pictures.
